LabLync Cloud Security for Laboratory Information System


One of the biggest concerns about cloud computing is how to make the transition without sacrificing security. The cloud computing environment LabLync infrastructure is built from the ground up to provide enterprise-class security.


All users to the system must authenticate usernames and passwords in order to access the system. These user names and passwords are managed by the LIS administrator of the laboratory. Login audits can be provided to address system usage and access.

SSL Secured Web Portal

ABSLabs Website is secured with an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). SSL uses 128 bit encryption to protect and secure your data in your LabLync web portal. SSL allows for sensitive information to be transmitted securely.

Data Centers

The LabLync Cloud Infrastructure consists of multiple data centers geographically located for performance and redundancy. Our data centers implement the highest standards in security to ensure data protection.

The LabLync cloud hosted network utilizes software-based Cisco switches that allow our infrastructure to allocate diverse networking protocols to our customer’s resources. This isolation allows access restrictions and total security for the cloud based serves.


To prevent data intrusion and corruption, we have chosen to use the leading vendor in storage virtualization, NetApp. Within our storage array, LabLync utilizes FlexVol and SnapLock to setup secure storage partitions for our customers.

Data Backups

Full Backups are taken each day and are archived for 6 months on multiple server drives for redundancy. Hourly backups are performed to store differential data changes. Every 7 minutes, transactional backups are performed to store transactional data.
